IRC Skill Training Requirements

Every "human" in IRC is responsible for fielding a character with the following attributes, on the following timeline. These requirements can be filled by one character or several. But the human being behind the characters must be able to fill the roles implied by this skill set.

This post is broken into two parts. The first defines what the skill requirement categories are. We will edit this post over time to add EVEMon training plans.

The second part defines the various skill tracks that a character can take. Each "human" needs to choose one of these skill training paths. They can change between them at any time.

Skill Requirement Categories

There are five categories:
- fleet support
- fleet combat
- industrial support
- industrial production
- utility skills

Each category has 3 levels. The assumption is you can't "fly" the ship until you have the ship skill at 4, and critical supporting skills at 4 or 5. Associated with each of these will also be the race-appropriate support skills. For instance, both energy skills to 5 would be part of the intermediate fleet combat skill set for an amarr pilot. Drone interfacing 4 would be part of the intermediate fleet combat skill set for a gallente pilot.

Fleet support:
Basic - fly one of EAF, interceptor, or covert ops
Intermediate - fly one of recon (w/covert cloak), interdictor, heavy interdictor, logistics, or scorpion with advanced ewar and targeting skills
Advanced - fly one of carrier with fighters and remote reps, or fleet command ship with advanced leadership skills (e.g., FLEET command 4, mindlink)

Fleet combat:
Basic - fly one of HAC with T1 weapons, or turret-based battleship* w/T1 guns
Intermediate - fly a turret-based battleship* with T2 guns
Advanced - dread

Industrial support:
Basic - fly a mid-range hauler with T2 expanders
Intermediate - fly one of transport ship, or freighter
Advanced - fly one of jump freighter w/jump calibration 5, or rorqual with bonuses and mindlink

Industrial production:
Basic - fly tier-2 mining barge w/T1 strip miners
Intermediate - either fly an Exhumer with basic skills, or have a character with adv. mass production 4 + production efficiency 5 + industry 5 + research 5 + laboratory operation 4 + supply-chain management 2 + scientific networking 2
Advanced - either have multiple accounts with intermediate skills, or have a character with max or near-max skills in two of: ice mining/deep core mining/"regular" mining, yet-to-be defined invention, capital construction, or T2 production skills

Utility skills:
Basic - one character with both leadership 5 and all bonuses to level 3, one character with drones 5, and one character with cyno field theory 3
Intermediate - one character with both anchoring 4 and propulsion jamming 5 (able to anchor a large T1 bubble)
Advanced - one character with starbase defense management 4

Skill Training Paths

There are four training paths, one for each of the primary areas. Each plan has concentration in the primary area, plus requirements in other areas. It is expected that a given "human" will satisfy ONE of these four plans. You can switch between them at any time.

The schedule for meeting the plans depends on if you are a current IRC member or a new IRC member.

Current IRC members are expected to:
- Meet level 1 in your chosen training plan within 3 months of this post.
- Meet level 2 within 6 months.
- Meet level 3 within 12 months.
- Meet level 4 within 18 months.

New IRC members are expected to:
- Meet level 1 before joining the alliance.
- Meet level 2 in their chosen training plan within 3 months after joining the alliance.
- Meet level 3 within 12 months.
- Meet level 4 within 18 months.
